A two-title act enacted in 1980 that amended the manner in which the banking industry operated by deregulating the interest rates paid by banks, revising reserve and deposit requirements, and raising the Federal Insurance Deposit Corporation (FDIC) insurance protection from $40,000 to $100,000 per account.
