Certified In Financial Management (CFM)
Definition
The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) provides certification in financial management. The program requires passing four exams, one in each of the following areas: economics, finance, and management; corporate financial management; management reporting, analysis, and behavioral issues; and decision analysis and information systems. Only members of the IMA are candidates for certification. Other requirements include: two years relevant experience, a bachelor's degree, two character references, and an agreement to abide by the Standards of Ethical Conduct for Practitioners of Management Accounting and Financial Management.
