Franking Credit

Definition
Type of tax credit allowing domestic businesses to pass through their taxes that have been previously paid on their corporate profits. Investors who receive dividends from the company's stock are also able to receive a certain amount of franking credits. The number of credits received is in proportion to the overall tax rate of the company per dollar of its profits.
