An analysis of the price and volume of a share represented on the horizontal or Y-axis of a securities chart. A price by volume chart is a means of anticipating support or resistance for a particular share by tracking the peaks and fluctuation of that share over the course of a defined period. Strengths and weaknesses are represented by the highs and lows of the price by volume bar.
