Qualified Professional Asset Manager (QPAM)

Definition
An investment adviser, registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), who meets the conditions in the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). A QPAM-managed fund can be involved in a wide variety of transactions, especially involving accounts holding retirement funds. Regulated bodies like banks and insurance firms may also qualify as QPAMs.
