A type of currency quote provided to an investor from a market maker that may be changed prior to a transaction. The market maker is not obligated to honor the quote. Market makers might provide an indicative quote if an investor indicates the possibility of a currency trade, but does not indicate the volume of the transaction. Investors can use indicative quotes as an estimate of the exchange rate for a particular currency trade.
