Definition
Cotation Assistee en Continu. Benchmark index for the French stock markets composed of 40 of the largest and most liquid stocks trading on the Paris Bourse exchange. "Cotation Assistee en Continu" is French for "Continuous Assisted Quotation". The CAC 40 Index was started in 1987 with a value of 1000.
