National Social Security Fund

Definition
A national reserve fund established by the Chinese government in 2000 for the purpose of providing payments to Chinese citizens qualifying for Social Security. Managed by a government agency, the fund invests its $146 billion (2010) of assets in a diversified portfolio of domestic and foreign investments.
