Competition-based Pricing

Definition
A method of determining the price at which a particular product is sold based on the prices of competing products rather than on the cost of production or the amount of demand from customers. Competition-based pricing can be effective when the average price of competing goods is noticeably different from prices suggested by production cost or demand.
