Contingent Deferred Sales Load (CDSL)

Definition
A back-end load that is calculated and charged by a mutual fund on the basis of how long the fund is owned before redemption. The CDSL reduction schedule is published in the fund's prospectus, but generally speaking, the CDSL is eliminated completely if the fund is held long enough. Compare to Front-End Load.
