BRIC Countries

Definition
The acronym that stands for Brazil, Russia, India and China, four of the world's emerging but not yet fully developed economies. The BRIC label came from a thesis proposed by Goldman Sachs' Jim O'Neill in 2001 that argued that these four countries would collectively be the most successful and influential by the year 2050. Also called the "Big Four."
