Expected Dividend Yield

Definition
The total value of dividends that an investor expects to receive from holding a dividend-yielding stock or other security for a period of one year. The dividend yield is calculated by dividing the total dividends received by the purchase price of the investment, but actual dividend yield may differ from expected dividend yield depending on the financial health of the issuing company.
