A practice of employing a straw buyer in order to purchase real property. When the real buyer is unable to get financing for the purchase of real estate, he compensates another person (straw buyer) to pretend to be a legitimate buyer. This transaction is illegal when it is done in order to defraud banks or other financing institutions.
