Large Value Transfer System (LVTS)

Definition
An electronic transfer system in Canada that allows banks to transfer funds instantly. Once transferred, the process is not reversible. This system is used for customers, but banks, including the Central Bank of Canada, usually use it for short-term loans between financial institutions, too.
