Three Steps And Stumble Rule

Definition
Rule that suggest that security prices will decrease following three consecutive increases in the rate that the Federal Reserve charges commercial financial institutions. This rule often proves true as security prices move in the opposite direction of the rate. Decreases in the rates charged leads to decreases in the price of the security.
