Shareholder Value Transfer (SVT)

Definition
A measure of the sum of equity that a company's shareholders transfer to its executives upon exercising stock options. Executives can buy shares from a company at a particular price irrespective of the company market value when they receive stock options. SVT is therefore the difference between the strike price of the stock option and the company's market value.
