Rule 144a

Definition
A rule issued by the Securities and Exchange Commission which changes the two year holding period required on privately places security which allow eligible institutional buyers to trade such positions between themselves. This rule has allowed for the increased liquidity of securities and allows bypassing of limitations meant to protect the public.
