Sticky Downward

Definition
Resistance to downward movement of a measurement, such as prices, wages or other financial values. The measurement can easily move up with little resistance, but slowly moves down because of tangible factors, such as legal or economic conditions. For example, a wage increase is easily accepted, but a wage cut is difficult to achieve.
