Reverse Stock Split

Definition
A consolidation of outstanding shares taken by a company to reduce the number of shares on the market. For example, in a one for two (1:2) reverse split, a company or investor who owns 200 shares of a company's stock at $20 before a reverse split will own 100 shares at $40 after the reverse split.
