Price Tension

Definition
Tug of war between buyers and sellers concerning the price of an asset. The greater the price tension, the larger the gap between the price a seller asks and the price a buyer is willing to pay. In the securities market, the strength of price tension determines the spread between bid and ask prices. Strong price tension creates a wide spread between bid and ask.
