Toggle Note

Definition
A bond that offers the issuer the option to put off interest payments in exchange for increased coupon payments. A toggle note requires that all deferred interest payments be settled by the date upon which the bond matures. Toggle notes are sometimes issued by companies going through temporary cash flow difficulties.
