Reverse Convertible Note (RCN)

Definition
A derivative financial instrument based on underlying stocks or bonds. A reverse convertible note provides the holder with shares of stock or a cash payout upon maturity, depending on how it was set up by the issuer. Reverse Convertible Notes provide exposure of a portfolio to a stock or bond without actually including the stock or bond in the portfolio.
