Market Standoff Agreement

Definition
Prevents a company's insiders from selling their stock in a company for an agreed on period of time after the company's initial public offering is made. The length of a standoff can vary from 90 days to a year, and is meant to prevent a massive decline in the value of a stock after its original offering.
