Market Sweep

Definition
Additional offering made after a tender offering that allows investors to gain a controlling interest in a company by paying a higher price for shares that were offered in the initial tender offering. Shares sold in a tender offer are usually priced above their market value, so investors taking part of a market sweep are typically paying twice as much as the stock's true value.
