Earnings Before Interest After Taxes (EBIAT)

Definition
An analysis of a company's operating performance where taxes are treated as an operating cost rather than on the proportion of debt to equity on the assumption that a company will not be allowed to operate if it does not pay taxes. It is calculated as a company's revenue minus overheads and tax liability. However, EBIAT ignores any interest paid on debt.
