Net Debt To Assessed Valuation

Definition
A ratio used to evaluate the quality of a municipal bond issue. If the value of assets held by the municipality is high in relation to the overall debt, the bonds are judged to be less risky because the municipality can more easily finance repayment of the bond upon maturity.
