Definition
Tax-exempt bond issued by a state of local government municipality to finance restorations/construction on homes for qualifying first-time homebuyers. The funds for mortgage revenue bonds are acquired through principal and interest payments on similar loans. To qualify for mortgage revenue bonds, the potential borrower needs to be a first-time homebuyer with a low to moderate income.
