W-2G Form
Definition
Certain Gambling Winnings. This form is used to report income and withholding that is related to a taxpayer's gambling winnings. A taxpayer will need to file a Form W-2G if they receive $600 or more in gambling winnings and the payout is at least 300 times the amount of the wager (other than winnings from bingo, keno, and slot machines). The form will need to be filed if the taxpayer has $1,200 or more in gambling winnings from bingo or slot machines, and $1,500 or more in proceeds from keno. (This is the amount of winnings less the amount of the wager.) Other gambling winnings may also be subject to federal income tax withholding.
