Definition
A large Asian market produced by the merging of two other exchanges in the mid-twentieth century and now having approximately 1,200 companies listed. This exchange has one of the largest securities in the world based on its market capitalization. Historically, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange was the first formal securities market in China.
