Liberty Bond

Definition
A bond issued by the United States Government to raise funds for World War I efforts. Although the issuance of this bond did not prove successful, the Government decided to reissue bonds under the same name after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack for the rebuilding efforts required after that disaster.
