Hospital Revenue Bond

Definition
A specific type of revenue bond that is issued to finance the construction of a hospital or nursing home. These are issued by a state agency or municipality and are generally tax exempt. A hospital revenue bond tends to be riskier than water or sewer bonds because hospitals do not have the authority to tax individuals to repay this debt.
